FYL KINETIC TYPE

This snippet lyric video of SMLE’s song "FYL" is based around the concept of searching for your love online. FYL is an abbreviation for "For Your Love." The abbreviation reminded me of text lingo such as “gtg,” “ttyl”, and so on and so forth. Keeping that in mind, the concept of this video was influenced by a line in the chorus: “searching, searching, searching for it.” The line created this vision of searching for someone through a search engine or on social media. The visuals are based around this idea of getting sucked into your phone and looking for that special person. (2020)
